• Parents and teachers work in partnership as educators, sharing common aim that pupils would develop and attain their full potential as worthwhile members of the community.
  • Parents are most welcome to discuss their children’s progress at any time, by prior appointment.
  • It is always preferable to make contact before a real problem arises. If something prevents a child from being happy, contented and successful, then school and home must co-operate to improve this as soon as possible.
  • In the first instance, parents should contact the class teacher. The principal may also be consulted.
  • Parents are informed of day-to-day activities in the school via letter from the Principal.
  • Text messages are used as a communication tool from school to home.
  • Parents will receive notification of school closures and holidays annually. Parents will be informed of any changes e.g. due to teacher training days etc., as soon as the information is available to the Principal.
  • Twice yearly (October and June) a time is arranged for parents to come to their child’s teacher and talk about his/her progress/problems.
  • Parents of Junior Infants will meet the class teacher three times during the school – once each term.
  • If parents need to have longer contact with a teacher then they should make an appointment to do so.
  • If a teacher is concerned about a child in her class, she may ask the parents of that child to make an appointment to see her.
