When a child is sick in school, parents are contacted if possible.

The school must have the following contact numbers:

1. Home phone number
2. Parents’ mobile numbers
3. Work phone number (where applicable)
4. Other emergency number (e.g. Grandparents etc) if parents can’t be traced at 1 and 2

• Where a parent cannot be contacted, the school will take what it deems to be appropriate action in the best interests of the child e.g. Doctor/hospital in the event of a serious injury.
• It is school policy that parents are contacted if a child bumps his/her head.
• Teachers are not allowed to transport sick children home. Parents must organise transport of their sick child themselves.
• Children feeling unwell in the morning should not be sent to school.
